Hi Everyone,

Well we weathered the storm well.  Our home made it through without one problem!  We had a lot of cleaning up yesterday and today I gave up trying to save our food in the fridge and our side by side fridge/freezer.  It has been a pain trying to keep it up with generators that we are sharing and besides that it is about 89 degrees in our house.

Last night, I decided (with Paul's help) to leave for HOuston and spend some time with Kathy and David.  The kids have been miserable and needless to say last night Paul and I were both pretty disgusted.  THe house last night was about 88 degrees with about 100% humidity. My Mom also has been having a hard time without air. Yesterday, she looked really bad...we were worried about her.....anyway, she came with me to Houston.  We made here about an hour ago and David is spoiling us by cooking us an awesome dinner.  Paul would be jealous!

Paul spent yesterday patching up Jeff's Daddy's roof and then cutting a tree off of my nephews home that was just completed a week ago.  Luckily, Paul said the tree did not leave any damage. Last night he was so tired and did not sleep much with the heat and he will be working for the next 5 days or so.

Marathon is giving employees 20 gallons of gas and then they can purchase some afterwards.  This was a blessing since we needed fuel for the generators.  He was also able to fill up his truck. THey are also loaning out generators and his name is on the list for one so we are crossing our fingers that he will get one.  If that happens, I will pick up a small window unit to take home with us when we go home.

We are planning to go home on Sunday.  Schools are closed until next THursday with the hope that our power is restored.  In Entergy's 95 years they have never had a storm that knocked out all 14 of their feeder lines that run all the substations.  THis is why they are telling us that we will have power at the earliest 8 days and for some it may be 4-6 weeks.  We are again crossing our fingers that we will be up early next week. Paul will be sleeping at my brother Joe's house (he has a generator with a small ac). Our land phones and cell phones are working only sometimes.

Again, we are thankful that we are all healthy and our home is fine, but we need prayers to get power back.  It is so hard on children and the elderely.  Thanks for your prayers...our love to all.
